All submissions will be reviewed by the Exhibitor Workshop Committee. Workshops are open to all IMS registrants for a nominal fee and should appeal to the exhibit attendees. The selection criteria include: relevance and interest to MTT-S members and IMS2017 exhibition attendees, cross section and novelty of topics, and equitable representation of exhibitors.
MicroApps Selection Criteria: Exhibitors are invited to submit an abstract detailing an applications presentation. All submissions must be in English, and may cover new products, noteworthy state-of-the-art components, new technologies, and manufacturing and design techniques incorporating the exhibitor’s products and technologies. All submissions will be reviewed by the MicroApps Committee. Papers are open to all IMS registrants and should appeal to the exhibit attendees. The selection criteria include: relevance and interest to MTT-S members and IMS2017 exhibition attendees, novelty of topic (avoidance of duplicate material from prior years), and equitable representation of exhibitors.
Exhibitor Workshop Presentation Format: PowerPoint Presentation formats are flexible. AV equipment including projector & screen with audio inputs will be available. Workshops take place in designated meeting rooms on Level 3 of the Hawaii Convention Center. Seating will be arranged in classroom style. Workshops are two-hours in length. Presentation schedule will be set by the Exhibitor Workshop Committee. The file for the electronic media should not exceed 100MB. Additional materials may be distributed to participants at the time of the Workshop. Presentation should be by digital projection using either your own laptop or the session PC and are due 24 February 2017.
MicroApps Presentation Format: PowerPoint presentations (or their equivalent PDF output) are required. Embedded animations/videos are encouraged. The presentations are made in the MicroApps Theater located on the exhibit floor. Acoustics will be employed that permit everyone inside the theater to hear the presentation and exhibitors outside to conduct normal business. Your company will be given the opportunity to invite people to hear your presentation using a free IMS2017 “Exhibition Only” pass. For an additional fee, presentations will be recorded and original files will be provided to your company following IMS. Seminar presentations are typically 10–15 minutes in length. Time allocations for each presentation will be set by the review committee. Allotted presentation time may be reduced for multiple submissions from the same exhibitor. The file for the electronic media should not exceed 100 MB. The electronic media is offered free of charge to all MicroApps attendees. Presentation should be by digital projection using the session PC and are due by 21 May 2017.
Notification: Exhibitor Workshop and MicroApps authors will be notified, by email, of the evaluation results in February 2017.

Deadline: The deadline for submission is 5 December 2016.
Paper submission: Authors are invited to submit technical papers describing original work and/or advanced practices on radio-frequency, microwave, millimeter-wave, and terahertz (THz) theory and techniques.
Papers should be 3 pages in length (PDF format), and should not exceed 2 MB in file size. Hardcopy and email submissions will not be accepted. Authors must adhere to the format provided in the conference paper template available on the IMS website. It is the authors’ responsibility to obtain all required company and government clearances prior to submission. Please don’t wait until the last day to start the paper submission process. Those unfamiliar with the process may encounter paper formatting or clearance issues that may take time to resolve.
A double-blind review process will be used to ensure anonymity for both authors and reviewers.
Papers will be evaluated on the basis of originality, content, clarity, and relevance to IMS. For accepted papers, the electronic submission of a final manuscript along with a copyright assignment to the IEEE will be required no later than 27 February 2017. Symposium proceedings will be recorded on electronic media and archived in IEEE Xplore. Authors of accepted papers should consider submitting an extended version of their IMS paper for possible publication in the IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques.
Emerging technical areas: IMS2017 enthusiastically invites submission of papers that report state-of-the-art progress in technical areas that are outside the scope of those specifically listed in this Call for Papers, or that may be new to IMS, but are of interest to our attendees.
Special sessions, workshops, panel and rump sessions, and short courses: Topics being considered for these areas include Next Generation Wireless Systems (5G and beyond), Internet of Space, Latest Technologies for RF/Microwave Measurements, and Advances in RFIC Technology. Proposals must be received by 6 September 2016.
Student paper and student design competitions: Eligible students are encouraged to submit papers for the student paper competition. The papers will be evaluated using the same standards as all contributed papers. In addition, eligible students or student teams are invited to participate in student design competitions during IMS2017, which are organized and sponsored by various Technical Committees of the MTT-S Technical Coordination Committee (TCC).
MicroApps: MicroAppsand exhibitor workshops: The Microwave Application Seminars (MicroApps) serve as a forum for IMS exhibitors to present technology behind their commercial products and special capabilites. New for IMS2017 are Exhibitor Workshops, which offer IMS exhibitors a chance to present in-depth technical topics, via two-hour sessions, in a meeting room off the exhibit floor. Both presentation formats are open to all conference and exhibit attendees — MicroApps are free of charge and Exhibitor Workshops require a nominal fee. With demonstrations from Automatic, Broadcom, EERO, Maja Systems, Rohde & Schwarz, Zentri and a multiplayer VR Mission to Mars, the Wireless Wonders Pavilion is sure to be a highlight of IMS2016! From wearables to smart home monitoring systems, Media Partner, Wireless Design & Development will be showcasing a multitude of innovative, end-user wireless devices.
Join us in Booth 1800 on the IMS Exhibition floor! See below an overview of pavilion!
In this VR world each person had a display screen with four controls which operated the vehicle. As the players land on Mars surface in their vehicle the game begins. Instructions appear on each players screen notifying them of the commands that need action. The trick was that no-one knows who has which control functions. So players need to verbally communicate amongst themselves in order to manipulate the controls which in turn operate the vehicle. Hilarity ensued as they work together, potentially yelling over each other's commands to activate the correct sequence to keep the exploration vehicle moving forward. Missed or slowly executed commands affect the vehicles speed and results in a lower overall time to complete the mission — or worse, getting engulfed by the dust storm chasing them. A leaderboard of individuals on each team’s gameplay performance keeps track of the fastest team creating both a fun co-operative team-base game and a competitive incentivize scenario for the broader show duration.
